Axiom (Original Custom)
Nathan’s original FlippinOut design — the grandfather of the Scout.
Our Story
SimpleShot started in a workshop with a love for slingshots and a simple belief: the joy of hitting the mark belongs to everyone. More than a decade later, that’s still the whole point.
It started with Nathan Masters and a whole lot of patience. In the early 2000s, long before SimpleShot had a name, Nathan was hand-carving slingshots one at a time under the banner of FlippinOut Slingshots — chasing the feel of a frame that points where you look and a band that snaps clean. People noticed. The orders outgrew the workbench.
In 2012, that craft became a company. Nathan brought the Scout to market — the first injection-molded, mass-produced frame of its kind — and SimpleShot was born. The idea was simple: take everything a hand-built slingshot gets right, and put it within reach of anyone who wants to shoot.
A slingshot can be as complicated as you want to make it. At its heart, it’s still the oldest skill there is — line up your hand, your eye, and your will, and let the shot happen. That’s the simple shot. It’s what we chase, and it’s what we build for.
Today we’re a crew in Asheville, North Carolina, USA owned and operated, shipping slingshots, bands, ammo, and know-how to shooters in just about every corner of the world. We design gear we shoot ourselves, we stand behind it, and we spend our days helping new shooters and lifelong ones get more out of every shot. Fun is what brings people in. Skill is what keeps them coming back. We’re here for both.
Together, we’re a global team bringing joy, education, and excellence to the slingshot world.

Owner / Founder
You probably already know about Nathan. His love of craftsmanship and slingshots birthed this company over a decade ago, beginning as FlippinOut Slingshots and eventually growing into SimpleShot. Nathan pioneered hand-made craftsman slingshots in the early 2000s, brought the Scout to market in 2012, and has driven the worldwide slingshot movement as much as anyone. He’s North America’s representative for the World Slingshot Association and present at every tournament possible — but his real love isn’t winning, it’s sharing the love of slingshots with the world.
Fun fact: Nathan loves Tenkara fishing, being outside, and the art of brewing tea.
Creative Director
If you’re looking at something SimpleShot or reading something from SimpleShot, it’s probably Jacob’s doing. Jacob built the original SimpleShot website over a decade ago, designed practically everything you see, and has kept the systems running since the start. He co-founded Slingshot Mastery in 2019.
Fun fact: Jacob grew up adoring Bob Ross and prefers shooting clay in his woods with his kids.
Operations Manager
Dan is all about systems and operations. He’s behind the screen daily making sure the SimpleShot machine stays well oiled, troubleshooting issues whenever they arise. He’s crazy about cars and food, and always looking for problems to solve. Chances are, if “we’re looking into it,” Dan’s on the job.
Fun fact: Originally from Virginia, Dan has lived in Pennsylvania, Georgia, Texas, France, and now Asheville, North Carolina.
Warehouse Manager
John manages all the systems inside SimpleShot HQ. If it has to do with the warehouse, John is on top of it — keeping every product organized, assembled, inventoried, and shipped, day in and day out. John was born and raised in Asheville, and is always spending time with his wife and three children.
Fun fact: In his spare time, John enjoys the local music scene, vinyl records, and helping with his kids’ sports teams.
Customer Support Manager
If you’re contacting us with a question or comment, you’re likely chatting with Jude — a pro at helping customers. Whatever’s on your mind or whatever you need with your order, Jude has you covered, working day in and day out with the warehouse team to make sure every message gets answered.
Fun fact: Jude has lived in Washington, Kansas, California, Nevada, Utah, Oregon, New York, and now North Carolina.
Receiving & Inventory
Josh started at SimpleShot as a product packager and quickly moved into receiving and inventory. He keeps the warehouse organized and products where they need to be, so the rest of the team can run at full speed.
Fun fact: Josh was born and raised in Asheville, NC, and loves hiking the Great Smoky Mountains with his wife.
Shipping Lead
If it shipped, Michael did it. His main focus is getting your order out the door with love and care, and working with our carrier partners so your package arrives safe, sound, and on time. Michael loves knowing he’s sending the joy of slingshots across the world.
Fun fact: Michael plays many different instruments, and has never seen the movie Titanic.
Product Preparation
A long-time veteran at SimpleShot, Linda has done it all over the years — from tying bands (literally tens of thousands) to assembling, packing, and shipping. Now she’s settled into quality control, making sure your slingshot is the absolute best it can be. If you’ve bought one of our products, rest easy: Linda inspected it.
Fun fact: Linda is a very (very) early riser, and is always the first one on the job.
Slingshot Expert
Jordan has been an important member of the worldwide slingshot community for years. On top of being an expert marksman and a walking library of all things slingshots, he’s one of the most effective instructors we know — and an all-around great guy. Join us at a North American slingshot event and there’s a good chance you’ll meet him.
Fun fact: Jordan is a die-hard Chicago Bears fan and loves the Dragon Ball anime series.
Design Expert
Mark has been an integral member of Team SimpleShot since the introduction of the Torque. Over the years, his designs have won the hearts of enthusiasts worldwide and earned multiple international design awards. If you’ve ever wondered why SimpleShot slingshots shoot so well and look so cool, Mark’s eyes and hands are the reason. When he isn’t designing the next frame, he teaches digital design as a professor at Budapest Metropolitan University in Hungary.
Fun fact: Mark loves action figures, sculpting, and balisong flipping.
Pick a frame, grab some bands, and find out what all the fuss is about.
