“Is it possible to shoot looped tubes OTT on an Ocularis slingshot?”
The Ocularis system is designed to shoot loop tubes fantastically. In fact, installing tubes on an Ocularis slingshot is probably the easiest band installation in the world.
Remember, when shooting looped tubes on an Ocularis slingshot, the plug goes on the target side and the looped tube simply wraps around the plug. When you pull on the bands, you are pulling the plug tighter into the frame, and the plug is on the target side of the frame. Perfect.
However, this system does not allow the bands to come over the frame in an OTT configuration. In order to achieve this, you would install the loop tubes as you would a flat band. While this is completely possible and works just fine, there are some minor drawbacks. The main one is simply the ends of the looped tubes are slightly in the way of the bandset. The other is that the tubes don’t want to stay in perfect position as you draw them back. They may separate from each other a bit as you draw the slingshot.
We encourage you to band up your Ocularis slingshot using the method described above and in the owners manual, since it is most secure and is extraordinarily simple. Always make sure that your plugs are installed correctly on your Ocularis slingshot and will give you enjoyment for a lifetime.
