What is the stock bandset pouch ammo size?

Jul 23, 2021

Can I shoot 3/8 steel in the pouch?

“What size slingshot ammo should be used with the stock bandset pouch on SimpleShot products?”

The standard pouch we include on all our slingshot stock bands is suitable for the widest range of most common ammo sizes possible. The pouch is capable of shooting larger ammo is all the way up to the 1/2 inch steel size and all the way down to 3/8 inch or even smaller.

This is definitely an area of personal preference and most people who are dedicated shooters end up tying their own band sets, and therefore making their own pouch selection. But for us when we make our stock pouches that we want to be appropriate for the most people, our pouch size is designed to accommodate the 3/8 to 1/2 inch range most often. If you are shooting something smaller than 3/8 inch, you are probably going to want a smaller pouch.

When shooting, you are not only propelling the ammo at the moment of release, you are also propelling the pouch. Therefore, you want the pouch to be as light and insignificant to the shot as possible.
