For many years Theraband Gold was the ‘gold’ standard. With the advent of many varieties of Chinese flat latex over the past few years, we have begun to see radical increases in performance…but it just doesn’t last very long and can fail in uncommon and possibly dangerous ways.
The ideal latex for slingshots has a very high rate of retraction, performs well in temperatures below freezing, and has a predictable service life. In the last few years we have seen some outstanding bands from China and we have stocked them. However, they can often fail in random places with no predictability or warning and suffer performance losses in the cold.
We knew that there had to be something better and we have worked closely with the world’s very best latex manufacturer in China to develop what we believe to be the best slingshot flatband on the market! - 0.4mm- Often used by those who shoot with extended draw (butterfly style) and smaller ammo.
- 0.5mm - Preferred by target shooters and those who enjoy smaller ammo ¼”-5/16” (6mm-8mm)
- 0.6mm - Perfect for target shooting with larger ammo like 3/8” (9.5mm)
- 0.7mm - Do it all. Cut to your preferred taper and this thickness will accommodate just about any size ammo.

Great Latex .7 cut at a meager 18 to 12mm got 303 fps with 8mm steel!, the same taper also shoots 9.5 mm over 285 fps, 11mm at 235 FPS! 20mm to 16mm taper shot 11mm near same speed so not much rubber is needed for even great hunting speeds. 20 to 16mm shot .50 caliber steel at 193 fps near the same as double tbg at 25 to 15mm tapers! I bet 255+fps with 11mm at 23 to 13mm taper. I also would bet over 300fps with 9.5mm. I made 7 band sets before I knew much rubber wasn't needed for great speed and longevity so I tied a 29 to 25 mm band set for 11mm, and .50 it's just not needed. Maybe 29 to 19mm for .50 would get 220+ fps at 32.5" draw. It's lasting so much better than tbg, so so much faster too. JUST a heads up at 20 to 16mm it is a pretty heavy pull equivalent to 28 to 20mm tbg imo in felt draw weight. Small end of taper does not need to be wider than 12mm for 89 grain projectiles or less. Super flat shooting I won't buy anything else from now on! I'm over 250 shots and no premature tears like all my tbg I still have rolls of. With 18 to 12 mm my first bandset tested this could very reliably hunt all Small game with all size ammo I shoot. 180fps with .50 130 grain isn't ideal but it still would work. I bet 230fps +with .50 cal steel is achievable with one of the bandsets I've already tied. .Big power unlocked. I'm just shocked at these speeds with so little rubber! And it lasts well. Thanks simple shot, and Nathan Masters. All the 7 slingshots I shoot are from simple shot bought in a span of 15 years back when TBG was king. Sling shot Rubber has just come so far!

I got the latex sheet to build a large tennis ball slingshot. Anybody ever do this? Any ideas?
