  1. Jack of all trades and master of none

Posted by Tex on Feb 21st 2017

I am hoping that Simple-shot will allow me trade the Scout for a different model (Torque or Axiom champ)- here is why:

Clever design regarding band attachment and while it is true that it can be used with various grips, none of them works well for me (and others)

In a word the grips are "uncomfortable". The ridges and corners on the forks dig into the fingers where there is little padding. When set up for ott this becomes more pronounced. The hammer grip is so so at best. I find this to be an accurate shooter but for those wanting to get to the next level as far as accuracy, which requires heavy use, the discomfort might quickly change to pain in the fingers. Hunting bands would exacerbate this issue. For the expert who can just pick up any slingshot and be reasonably proficient, this may work but maybe the reason reviewers say great for beginners is b/c you might not want to use it long term. This could be the reason why it is rarely used in tournaments... practicing a lot with this can be a bone bruiser.

I also have the Hammer (a gift) which I like so far but as a beginner it did take me many sessions to begin to zero in on my target (slingshot mode). I have not tried sling bow mode yet but as a craftsman I will be watching how the wrist brace holds up as it does seem to have some play and sideways torque where it connects to the handle,
All in all I am happy Simple shot is there and will continue to do business with them. Good products and helpful tutorials. Customer service is timely,

  2. 1st Slingshot

This is my first big boy slingshot. The guy at simple shot was very helpful in helping me decide which slingshot. The slingshot is a really great slingshot and hit very hard.I like the adjustable bands. And it's made right here in the USA.
